Water Platters

This image, as well as the preceding water lily shots, were made at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The water platter in the foreground is about six feet in diameter. The other plants in the water are younger water platters that will open up to be just as big. Isn’t God amazing?

Image made with Canon 20D and Canon 100mm macro lens. ISO of 200, aperture of 13, and shutter speed  of 1/180 of a second.

Algae Peninsula at E.S.P.

Here’s another image from Eastern State Penitentiary. I like the contrast of the dark exposed brick to the decaying plaster. It’s also interesting the way the curve of the edge of the plaster echoes the curve of the algae growth.

The image was made using my Canon 20D, set to an ISO of 400. Focal length was 28mm, with an aperture of 4.5, and exposure time was 1/90 second.

Times Square Snack

I made this image last fall in Times Square. It was Christine‘s idea, so she got to be the model. I think she did a great job! Talk about the munchies!
