Obviously, I’m on a flower kick these days. What else is spring for? These images are all asiatic lilies at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. Well, except the last image, which is a flower that shared a planter with the lilies. I have no idea what it is, except pretty.
I found a pot of calla lilies for sale at the grocery store the other day, and just couldn’t resist bringing them home (after paying for them, of course!) to play with in the studio. I was drawn to them because of the graceful curves of the flowers, as well as how nicely the purple of the flowers is off-set by the green leaves. Here is a small sampling of the shots I have taken so far:
Spring is still trying to join us here in Pennsylvania. The first sign of its struggle showed up a couple weeks ago in my front yard: a small cluster of purple crocus. These were some of the first images I made with my new Canon 50D.
